14 participants successfully completed the data management training of the CDQ Academy
In May, the CDQ Academy once again brought together numerous data management practitioners. The main topics this time were data lifecycle, architecture and applications. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ralf Kelbel from Bosch, Martin Wingender from Bayer and Henning Möller from ZF for sharing many inspiring insights and good practices. And many thanks to all the participants who have addressed their use cases and thoughtful questions. And of course congratulations to our new 14 graduates!
"Ever since its birth in 2013 the hallmark of CDQ Academy has been pragmatic perspective on data management challenges and practices. Participation of experts from very diverse industry sectors guarantees very informative know-how exchange. Once again the CDQ Data Excellence Model has proven its value as a well-structured backbone for both conceptual and methodological foundation from CDQ as well as highly practical compilation of lessons-learned from our guest speakers.
Top that with fairly unique classroom atmosphere and you get a recipe for both usable takeaway and entering the network of 400+ professionals that remains a valued asset for Academy alumni well beyond receiving their graduation certificate."

What is the CDQ Academy?
The CDQ Academy is a special data management training program, initiated by the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality (CC CDQ ) and the Institute of Information Management of the University of St. Gallen. This unique training program was developed to respond to the growing need for hands-on training in the area of data management.
Unlike other data management courses, the Academy does not offer frontal teaching in the traditional sense. Rather, it offers a practice-oriented training in which experts from CDQ AG and speakers from various branches of industry share their experiences, practical solutions and real-life use cases with the course participants. In addition, they can test the new concepts in practice in small working groups. The three modules can be completed in any order. In parallel to continuing education, the CDQ Academy also offers the possibility of networking among like-minded colleagues and, no less important, lots of fun.
▶ Save the date: The next module of the CDQ Academy will take place from October 8th to 9th in Wiesbaden near Frankfurt.
The focus of Module 1 of the data management course is on principal business demand drivers and capability requirements for effective data management in the digital and data-driven enterprises. Participants will explore the business value contribution of data excellence and its implications for data strategy and roadmap development. This session will also cover an approach to ensuring sustainable performance and systematic improvements in key data capability areas. The conceptual foundation is backed-up with numerous good practice examples across variety of industry types.
