Professional data management is more important now than ever and has evolved its meaning from reactive necessity to a competitive advantage enabler. That’s why companies increasingly consider data a business-critical asset, with tangible impact on business operational capabilities, business model enhancements, compliance and many other aspects. Many of today’s data management approaches and concepts, however, should be revised and modernized in order to create business value from data.
The CDQ Academy was established to provide professional courses in the area of data management. This specialized program has been built in response to the widespread need for practical data management training. Since 2013, more than 400 participants have benefited from the data quality management expertise of CDQ and the University of Lausanne.
Do you want to learn more about data quality management? What is the most applicable description of your current situation in context of data management?
With the help of the CDQ Academy courses, you get an efficient entry and deep insights into data management concepts and best practices. You will receive answers to many common questions, like:
During the three seminar modules experts from CDQ AG and representatives from various industries will share their experience, practical solutions and real-life use cases. In addition, in small working groups you will try out the new concepts in practice. By joining the CDQ Academy data management course, you stay tuned to the state-of-the-art data management know-how and grow your network of data-oriented peers.
"The theoretical part in connection with the practical part of this training gave me a really good perspective of how I can handle this in my daily business, address the right topics and ultimately how I can get more results in my projects."
Andreas Mörker, Master Data Manager Corporate IT, SIGVARIS Management AG
"Case studies from guest speakers brought lots of input and stimulation, as did open discussions and the exchange of experiences with participants. Insights from participants who have already been working on practical applications surrounding this topic for years save us from potential errors and, therefore, save us time and money."
Jean-Philippe Roulet, Head CC Information & Data Management, Helvetia AG
Our data management training program is based upon the practice-proven CDQ Data Excellence Model (DXM) framework, that is a structured reference model addressing all aspects of developing and maintaining effective data quality in digital and data-driven companies. This model has been developed in a joint effort by the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality (CC CDQ), from which the CDQ Academy emerged. The program consists of three training modules:
Module 1 of the data management course addresses principal business outcome drivers and capability requirements for effective data management that delivers measurable business value. Participants will explore frameworks for contribution of data excellence and its implications for data strategy and roadmap development. This session will also cover an approach to ensuring effective and sustainable improvements in key data capabilities across people, process and technology areas. The conceptual foundation is validated by numerous good practice examples across variety of industry types.
This data management course provides fundamentals for two key data management enabler areas - data governance and performance measurement system. You will learn about typical data management roles and responsibilities, how they become operational in various organizational models, how to design a purposeful data quality monitoring framework and use it for continual corrective and optimization measures. The presented concepts and models are complemented with practical insights into deployment approaches, with reflections on lessons-learned from implementation experience, again with a number of good practice examples.
The third data management module focuses on very operational aspects of data management - data models, life-cycle processes and lineage, including perspectives on information architecture requirements and solutions. Participants will also familiarize themselves with essential software components supporting data management activities.
The CDQ Academy training for Data Excellence training takes place in Germany. The data management training facilities are easy to reach and offer a pleasant learning environment. But during this time of uncertainty, all of us are concerned about the safety and well-being of our families, colleagues, customers, partners and members. Therefor, we continue our working schedule remotely. We will continue to monitor the situation very closely and adjust the current plans further if necessary.
